The information we receive every day through the reception of images is unmanageable, subversive and vast. Our reception and decoding of images work unconsciously via image coding. In the series ultraimages, the artist Susanne Wehr investigates the impact on our perception of the compression of larger quantities of stereotypical photographs. The photographs which the artist has used for the ultraimages series were researched and selected via Google Search, create images that seem strangely familiar and at the same time alien.
